Lagoon 40 and 50 on show at Boot Düsseldorf

The Düsseldorf International Boat Show, known as boot Düsseldorf or boot, is one of the world’s premier boat shows. The expo will be held from 20 to 28 January 2018 at Messe and its exhibition centre, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

boot Düsseldorf is the biggest boat and water sports trade fair in the world and convenes in January every year. Nearly 1,900 exhibitors, a record number, from more than 60 countries, will participate in this year’s nine-day event.

Of these two exciting new vessels John Cowpe, Managing Director of The Multihull Group says ‘The 40 and the 50 symbolise the cutting edge modernity and trusted expertise of the Lagoon shipyard. They take the new generation Lagoons to the next level, as ever, listening to their passionate owners around the world and acting to bring world-class leading design thinking and technology.  Master designers VPLP continue the trend for higher performance in cruising catamarans.’

Boat and water sports enthusiast will be spoilt for choice of activities this year. Features such as Beach World with the WAVE, a new 65-metre activity pool, the 90m ‘river’ for paddlers and the Dive Centre are sure to draw the crowds.

Messe Düsseldorf Director Matthias Dornscheidt says ‘boot has everything on show that water sports enthusiasts want to see. It is the international trendsetter in the industry and will have exciting new attractions in 2018 too. boot is the leading destination anywhere in the world for everyone who loves sports in, by and on the water – surfers, divers, water sports holidaymakers and sailors or motor boat, inflatable boat or luxury yacht fans.’

Many large sailing yachts will debut at boot 2018, and we are excited to see the sailing halls showing a trend towards multihulls. Visitors can view fast multihulls and luxurious cruising cats, and everything in between.

‘We are expecting numerous boat premieres where large 60- to 70-foot sailing yachts are concerned too. The halls will be completely full,’ Petros Michelidakis says, adding ‘We are registering substantial growth with multihull boats in particular. Interest in multihull models has also increased by leaps and bounds on the back of a veritable boom in recreational sailing.’

Protection of the world’s oceans and waterways is once again given much focus. The “love your ocean” project has attracted plenty of attention due to the partnership with the German Ocean Foundation and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the environmental activist Emily Penn. Petros Michelidakis comments ‘People are being galvanised by “love your ocean”. It presents the possible ways that the industrial and scientific communities as well as society in general can already protect the world’s oceans and climate today… I am very proud that boot is one of the pioneers in this field and provides a broad platform for it.”

Boot Düsseldorf will be held from 20 to 28 Jan 2018. Register here if you are coming along and wish to view either the Lagoon 40 or 50, or would like to arrange a consultation with the team from TMG. See you at the Lagoon stand – A44, Hall 15.
