Lagoon, winner of the ARC 2018 in all categories!

The final results of the 2018 Atlantic Rally for Cruisers have been released, with Lagoon not only crowned the overall winner (in adjusted time) … but also winning every category of the ARC!
Last year was the 13th consecutive year Lagoon has been one of the official partners of the ARC – and an impressive 19 out of the 33 multihulls taking part in the 2018 ARC race were Lagoons.
But even more impressive were the final results of the ARC, with two Lagoon 42s and a Lagoon 450 cleaning up in all of the categories.
High-sea qualities and performance in real situations
According to Lagoon headquarters, the first place victory (in adjusted time) of ‘Ice Cat’, a Lagoon 42 “further proves Lagoon catamarans’ high-sea qualities and their performance in real situations on the long run.
Ice Cat was skippered by Jarek Clopek, the Polish Lagoon dealer and his crew for the third year in a row.
Ice Cat won yet again, facing the 32 other multihull boats involved in the race, including some from competing shipyards. The exceptional champion on board his 42 signed his and Lagoon’s name once again in the history of the ARC race, so popular in the entire world!”

An unmissable event for seasoned sailors
The Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) is a race organised between Las Palmas in the Canaries and Saint Lucia. The ARC+ takes place alongside the ARC, but via Cape Verde.
Lagoon was also on the podium of the ARC+ with Skyfall 1 (a Lagoon 450) and Starship Friendship (a Lagoon 42) that both arrived first, in adjusted time.
Both the ARC and the ARC+ are open to all kinds of sailors, with the ARC team providing navigators with a safe and secure environment to cross the Atlantic in excellent conditions
These races are highly appreciated by ‘transat’ newbies. It is also an unmissable event for seasoned sailors who particularly enjoy the warm atmosphere of the ARC and attempt to break speed records each year!
The Multihull Group and Lagoon would like to extend their congratulations to all the race contestants!
